沥青温拌剂 Warm mix asphalt
 
沥青温拌剂
是一种合成高分子蜡。外观白色颗粒状,不溶于水,常温下固态长链饱和烃,无刺激性气味,对人体无危害。随着国内市场对此类产品优越性能的逐步认识,现在各类道路工程项目设施建设中已得到一定的推广和应用,尤其适合在冬季和夜间摊铺等特殊施工现场的作业。

作用机理:
沥青混合料中添加低熔点的温拌剂,温拌剂颗粒在较低温度下熔化,熔化后产生大量的液体溶于沥青中,从而改变沥青的粘度曲线,降低拌和温度。同时在路面温度下,它形成一个精细的晶体结构,创造出一个分叉的部分相间的固化弹性结构,因此又具有了良好的路用性能
主要功能:
(1)降低沥青拌和温度30~50,延长施工时间。
掺用温拌剂的沥青混合料,拌和温度(120℃)较热拌温度(150℃以上) 降低了至少30℃,可用于冬季和夜间等特殊环境下施工作业。
(2)减少排放有毒气体对环境的污染,改善施工人员的作业环境。
拌和温度降低,有毒气体的蒸发排放大大减少。可使二氧化碳的排放减少46%,一氧化碳减少约2/3,二氧化硫减少40%,氧化氮类气体减少近60%,而摊铺时产生的有毒的“沥青烟”,能减少达80%,这在很大程度上保护了环境和施工技术人员的身体健康。
(3)良好的抗车辙、抗水损害能力路用性能。
温拌剂能显著提高沥青的高温性能,降低感温性,保持沥青的低温性能不变,软化点升高,感温性能降低,针入度指数提高在路面温度下,它形成的精细晶体结构,创造出一个分叉的部分相间的固化弹性结构,可能增强路面的抗车辙能力、抗水损害能力。不仅有利于道消除路面噪音,而且路面在固化期也不影响交通。
(4)优越的压实性能,提高了路面质量。
温拌剂可以把难以压实的混合料轻易压实在一起,减少了轧制循环,同时也不影响路面的回弹模量。
(5)节约能耗、机器运作以及道路后期维护的成本。
路面在施工时可节省加热燃油20%到30%。;低温作业延长沥青混合料设备使用寿命,降低设备维修成本;由于施工温度低,能有效减少沥青胶结料的氧化速度,防止沥青老化、变硬,提高道路的使用寿命; 道路铺筑质量的保障和改善,将减少后期维护及维护费用的发生。
(6).优越的抗老化性能延长的道路使用寿命
温拌剂耐酸碱的特性,防止化学物质对路面的侵蚀,增强了道路的抗老化能力。
(7)操作方便快捷,储存稳定,不易离析
无需特殊设备,易拌和,不离析温拌剂加入到沥青中,只需要机械简单搅拌即可,不需要额外增加设备;添加到矿料中,即直接与矿料一起搅拌。且与沥青的相容性好,储存稳定,不会产生离析
(8)解决了长运距运输的对沥施工造成的难题。
由于温度变化幅度小,有利于长运距的运用,对道路养护具有重大的意义。
建议掺加量:
基质沥青质量的1.5~3.5%。
操作、施工方法:
(1)可采用湿拌法和干拌法将温拌剂加入到沥青混合料中。湿法是按比例分次掺入温拌剂颗粒加热的沥青中搅拌均匀,搅拌时间不少于30min,沥青加热温度140~170℃;干拌法在沥青混合料拌和过程中,在加入沥青的同时,将温拌剂颗粒一次性加入混合料中进行拌和,无需延长拌和时间。
(2)加入沥青温拌剂的沥青混合料碾压部分分为初压、复压、终压三个阶段,采用钢轮压路机初压模式,紧跟着初压后用振动压路机进行复压,终压由双轮钢筒式压路机或关闭振动(或低幅高频)的压路机进行终压。

Warm mix asphalt is a kind of compound macromolecular wax. It is white and granular, insoluble in water. At normal temperature, it appears as solid saturated hydrocarbons of long chain. It has no pungent smell, harmless to people. With gradual acquaintance of superior performance of these analogous products in domestic market, nowadays it is popularized and applied in various construction of road-relevant project to some extent, especially suitable for the work of particular construction site (e.g. paving) in winter and night.

Mechanism of action:
When low melting warm mix agent is added into the asphalt mixture, the granule of warm mix agent will melt in lower temperature, then produce a mass of liquid  melted in the asphalt, thus changing the viscosity curve of the asphalt, and decreasing the temperature for mixing and stirring. Meanwhile, in road- surface temperature, it forms an elaborate crystal structure, creating a bifurcate and partly alternated curing elastic structure. Therefore, it possesses favorable pavement performance as well.
 
Main functions:
(1)Decrease the temperature for stirring asphalt to the range of 30-50℃, and extend the time of construction.
When asphalt mixture is blended with warm mix agent, the temperature for stirring (120 ℃) is decreased at least by 30℃, compared with that of hot stirring  (150℃ above), thus it can be applied to construction work in special conditions as in winter and night.
(2)Reduce environment pollution caused by emitting toxic gases, and improve the working condition for constructors.
As the blending temperature is decreased, the evaporation and emission of toxic gases will cut down immensely. For example, the emission of CO2 is decreased by 46%, the exhaust of CO is reduced by 2/3, the drainage of SO2 is decreased by 40%, the discharge of Oxidation of nitrogen gas is reduced almost by 60%, and the emission of “asphalt smoke”, which is produced in paving, can be reduced by 80% at least. Therefore, it protects the environment and the health of constructors and technicians to a great extent.
(3)Great pavement performance of anti-rutting and resisting water damage.
Warm mix agent can enhance high-temperature behavior of asphalt evidently, reduce temperature sensitivity, maintain low temperature performance of asphalt, raise softening point, degrade temperature affection performance, and upgrade penetration index. At road- surface temperature, it forms a elaborate structure, creating a bifurcate and partly alternated curing elastic structure, which can likely strengthen the ability of anti-rutting and resisting water damage of the road surface, therefore not only lowering pavement noise, but also maintaining the traffic in solidifying period of the road surface.
(4)Superior compaction capacity, improving road-surface quality
Warm mix agent can easily compact mixture, which is hard to be compacted, thus reducing rolling recycles,while hardly affecting modulus of resilience of the road surface.
(5)Reduce consumption energy, save the cost of machinery operation and subsequent road maintenance
When the road surface is under construction, heating fuel oil can be saved by 20% to
30%.Low temperature process extends srvice life of the equipment of asphalt mixture, reduces cost for repairing; due to the low temperature of construction, it can slow the oxidative rate of asphalt binder effectively, prevent asphalt from aging and hardening, and increase life span of the road. The insurance and improvement of pavement's quality will reduce occurrence of the post maintenance and related charge.
(6)Superior performance of anti-aging, extending life span of the road
The peculiarity of acid and alkali resistance of warm mix agent avoids the erosion to road surface by chemical substance, and strengthens the road's ability of anti-aging.
(7)The operation is convenient and rapid, and the storage is stable, hardly isolated.
The warm mix agent is easily mixed and stirred, hardly isolated, without special equipment. When it is added into the asphalt, simple mechanical mixing is enough, without additional devices. As it is mixed into the mineral aggregate, it can be directly blended with the mineral aggregate. It is quite compatible with asphalt. Moreover,it can be stored stably and is hardly isolated.
(8) Solve the problem of construction caused by of long distance transport
The small range of temperature change is advantageous for long distance transport, which has a great significance to road maintenance.
  
Suggested adding amount:
1.5%~3.5% the weight of the base asphalt material
 
The method of operation and construction
(1)You can adopt wet mix method and dry mix method to add warm mix agent into the asphalt mixture. The wet mix method is that granules of warm mix agent are appended into the heated asphalt separately in proportion, and the mixing ought to be homogeneous, of which the time should not be less than 30 minutes, and heating temperature of asphalt be 140~170℃.The dry mix method is that in the process of blending the asphalt mixture, you add the granule of warm mix agent into the mixture entirely while the asphalt is appended, thus the mixing time needn’t  be extended.
 (2) The crushing part of asphalt mixture blended with asphalt warm mix agent, is divided into three phases: initial pressing, repressing, final pressing. In initial pressing, steel roller is adopted, after which the vibratory roller is used for repressing, and the cylinder type roller or roller closing vibration (or roller with low amplitude and high frequency) enforce the final pressing.
